New EPA regulations would require 230,000 new bureaucrats to administer

The president has found a way to add jobs, after all — 230,000 of ‘em, all within the Environmental Protection Agency. That’s the number of new bureaucrats the federal government will need to hire to implement new proposed greenhouse gas regulations, according to a report by The Daily Caller:

The Environmental Protection Agency has said new greenhouse gas regulations, as proposed, may be “absurd” in application and “impossible to administer” by its self-imposed 2016 deadline. But the agency is still asking for taxpayers to shoulder the burden of up to 230,000 new bureaucrats — at a cost of $21 billion — to attempt to implement the rules.

The EPA aims to regulate greenhouse gas emissions through the Clean Air Act, even though the law doesn’t give the EPA explicit power to do so. The agency’s authority to move forward is being challenged in court by petitioners who argue that such a decision should be left for Congress to make.

The proposed regulations would set greenhouse gas emission thresholds above which businesses must file for an EPA permit and complete extra paperwork in order to continue operating. If the EPA wins its court battle and fully rolls out the greenhouse gas regulations, the number of businesses forced into this regulatory regime would grow tremendously — from approximately 14,000 now to as many as 6.1 million.

Keep in mind that the $21 billion figure doesn’t include the economic cost of the regulations themselves.

DAYTON — Advocates for atomic workers sickened by on-the-job radiation exposure at places like the Miamisburg Mound Plant say they’re outraged by a training manual for a federal compensation program that refers to a hypothetical claimant as “Freddy Krueger,” the name of a horror movie character whose face was badly burned.

The undated Labor Department manual, used in training people who screen applicants for possible compensation and medical benefits, also refers to the pathologist in a hypothetical dead worker’s case as the fictitious serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

The manual’s jocular attitude toward workers who have suffered from cancers and other serious illnesses is “indicative of the disrespect that’s shown to claimants” by Labor Department officials, said worker advocate Deb Jerison of Yellow Springs, who heads a nonprofit that helps sick atomic workers and their survivors obtain federal benefits. Some of the workers have died from their illnesses.

Labor officials did not return repeated phone calls seeking comment.

It is no secret that student loans are treated as exceptional by the financial industry and governments. You cannot get out of your student loan debts through bankruptcy, unlike every other type of loan. Similarly, unlike other types of loans, those avoiding payments might find themselves looking down the barrel of automatic weapons brandished by a SWAT team. You might even find yourself in this situation if your estranged wife fails to pay up to the education mafia.

To make matters even worse for Americans, recently the Supreme Court decided that you do not necessarily have a right to a lawyer when being charged with failure to pay debts. Instead, you will very likely be carted off to debtor’s prison without free legal counsel.

Luckily, a brilliant Scottish academic has solved these problems! Worried about being thrown in debtor’s prison, or never being able to get out of a student loan that never paid off in any appreciable way anyways? Why not just sell one of your organs?

Sue Rabbitt Roff of the Dundee University has been campaigning for the legalization of organ sales in the UK. Currently, under the Human Tissue Act of 2004, it is illegal to buy and sell organs and tissues in the United Kingdom.

Roff, a senior research fellow at Dundee University’s Department of Medical Sociology argues that we should allow students “to do a very kind and generous thing but also meet their own needs”. I guess Roff has never weighed the possibility of restructuring the entire way student loans are issued or the concept of student loans themselves.

Instead of thinking about how we can alleviate the ridiculous debt burden placed on students attempting to get a now all-but-worthless college degree, Roff is advocating the legalization of organ harvesting. Personally, I would find this laughable if it was not so disturbing.

I think it is a clear indication something is horribly wrong with our society when giving up vital organs for cash is actually considered a viable way of paying off banking cartels.

(NaturalNews) In a truly incredible example of the complete disregard for the health and safety of the American people, President Obama today told Americans that they should NOT prepare for radiation from the possible meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. His exact quote: "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health experts do not recommend people in the U.S. take precautionary measures beyond staying informed."

In other words, Americans should do nothing other than listen to their government. Don't buy potassium iodide pills (even though the U.S. Surgeon General has already urged people to do so), don't fuel up your automobiles in case you need to evacuate California, don't store some extra food and water... basically, don't worry! There's no problem! Obama says so!

In all my years of looking at the bizarre and sometimes idiotic rants of the "do not prepare" crowd (the Pollyannas of the world), I never imagined hearing the President of the United States telling people to do nothing while the nation stands on the verge of being hit with radioactive fallout from an increasingly likely nuclear meltdown event. This isn't just a lack of leadership, in my opinion: It's a cowardly act and a betrayal of the health and safety of the American people.

While Obama focuses on March Madness basketball, Fukushima burns, threatening to release a massive amount of radiation directly into the atmosphere. The United States has already confirmed that low levels of radiation will reach California by Friday (http://www.naturalnews.com/031733_r...). The coolant fuels have run dry in at least one reactor (http://www.naturalnews.com/031734_n...), meaning that the release of enormous amounts of radiation from spent fuel rods is now imminent. Last-ditch rescue efforts are underway, and while we can hope and pray that they are effective, it seems absolutely bewildering that at this moment, Obama would be telling Americans to effectively "do nothing."

Smart people will prepare anyway

Earlier today, I published a list of urgent action items for Americans and Canadians living on the western edge of North America (http://www.naturalnews.com/031731_r...). The same advice applies to those living in Hawaii, too: Get prepared now, just in case the Fukushima plant releases a massive amount of radiation into the air!

President Obama believes your action list should contain exactly one item: 1) Listen to your government and nothing else.

To me, that sounds like a recipe for suicide. But I suppose it's up to each person to decide whom they want to believe. If the meltdown happens and the radiation cloud heads into California, many of those who listened to Obama could die of cancer from radiation exposure. What an incredible legacy for a President to leave in the history books.

A seven month old baby has miraculously survived being shot after the parents killed themselves and their two year old son, citing fears over a lack of government action on global warming.

Francisco Lotero, 56, and Miriam Coletti, 23, are said to have shot their young son in the back, killing the toddler instantly.

Neighbours called the police, after complaining of a stench coming from the house.

Police broke into the property and discovered the horrific scene three days after the shooting, the Latin American Herald reported Saturday.

Still alive, but covered in blood, the baby was rushed to the hospital where it was revealed that the bullet from her father’s handgun had somehow missed all the child’s vital organs, lodging itself in her chest.

In a suicide note, reportedly discovered by police, the couple cited their extreme fears over the effects of global warming.

The couple were said to have expressed anger at the government in the letter for not doing more to avert a worldwide environmental crisis.

The baby is now under observation in a hospital in the town of Goya in the north of Argentina.

Doctors have told the media that the child is out of danger and should make a good recovery.

The tragic story is clearly an isolated incident, yet it highlights the fear with which some people are receiving the constant drumbeat about anthropogenic global warming.

Clearly this couple were either already very much deranged or were so terrified that they ended their own lives believing that they were contributing to the destruction of the planet.

It is not surprising to hear of an incident like this, particularly in the face the concerted agendato link global climate change with overconsumption and overpopulation, offering up depopulation policies as a possible solution.

Linking environmental policy to agendas opens the door to eugenics and it is no surprise that through that door have come pouring hordes of elitist filth just begging to be on the front line of the extermination policy.

One example is UK-based public policy group The Optimum Population Trust (OPT), which has launched a new initiative urging wealthy members of the developed world to participate in carbon offsets that fund programs for curbing the population of developing nations.

In 2007, the group also published a report announcing that children are ‘bad for planet and ‘having large families should be frowned upon as an environmental misdemeanour in the same way as frequent long-haul flights, driving a big car and failing to reuse plastic bags.

The same talking point has been re-iterated again and again by public policy groups and environmentalists, as well as the most influential scientists in theUS government.

While you may think ideas of sterilization and depopulation could never be accepted by the public, those very concepts are now being embraced and popularized by some as the way forward for humanity.

Last December’s Copenhagen Summit even heard suggestions from Chinese delegates for a global population control program to tackle global warming.

Makers of natural-health products say they are bracing for widespread layoffs and millions of dollars in losses after Canada's pharmacy regulators issued a surprise directive recently urging druggists to stop selling unlicensed natural remedies.

The order affects thousands of herbal treatments, multi-vitamins and other products, most of them waiting for approval from Health Canada under a backlogged, five-year-old program to regulate natural-health goods.

The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) says pharmacists cannot be assured the products are safe until they are granted a government licence, and should not sell them in those circumstances. "Pharmacists are obliged to hold the health and safety of the public or patient as their first and foremost consideration," said the association's recently issued position statement.

Representatives of the natural health industry, however, have reacted angrily to the directive issued last month, predicting it will have little impact on patient safety, while triggering an economic "crisis" for their members.

"We are talking about job loss, we are talking about a lot of income loss, we are talking about product stuck in warehouses that cannot be sold," Jean-Yves Dionne, a spokesman for the Canadian Health Food Association, said in an interview.

A statement issued by the association calls the directive self-serving and contrary to federal government policy.

"It has taken a sledge hammer to a finishing nail," the group said. "It will create confusion for consumers. It is the wrong thing to do."

NAPRA is comprised of representatives of the provincial colleges of pharmacy that regulate the profession. It is now up to the individual provinces to implement the statement. The Ontario and Quebec colleges have already done so, with Ontario pressing pharmacists to not buy or order any more of the affected products, and its neighbour pushing for druggists to also remove unlicensed product already on their shelves, Mr. Dionne said.

Pharmacies, as surprised by the directive as anyone, are caught in the middle, said Jeff Poston of the Canadian Pharmacists Association.

"One of the questions that everybody is asking in the pharmacy world is, ‘Why now?' As far as people can determine, nothing has significantly changed."

A spokesman for NAPRA was not available for comment.

Joshua Tabor admitted to police he had used the CIA torture technique because he was so angry.

As his daughter ’squirmed’ to get away, Tabor said he submerged her face three or four times until the water was lapping around her forehead and jawline.

Tabor, 27, who had won custody of his daughter only four weeks earlier, admitted choosing the punishment because the girl was terrified of water.

One quarter of US grain crops fed to cars - not people, new figures show

New analysis of 2009 US Department of Agriculture figures suggests biofuel revolution is impacting on world food supplies

One-quarter of all the maize and other grain crops grown in the US now ends up as biofuel in cars rather than being used to feed people, according to new analysis which suggests that the biofuel revolution launched by former President George Bush in 2007 is impacting on world food supplies.

The 2009 figures from the US Department of Agriculture shows ethanol production rising to record levels driven by farm subsidies and laws which require vehicles to use increasing amounts of biofuels.

"The grain grown to produce fuel in the US [in 2009] was enough to feed 330 million people for one year at average world consumption levels," said Lester Brown, the director of the Earth Policy Institute, a Washington thinktank that conducted the analysis.

Last year 107m tonnes of grain, mostly corn, was grown by US farmers to be blended with petrol. This was nearly twice as much as in 2007, when Bush challenged farmers to increase production by 500% by 2017 to save cut oil imports and reduce carbon emissions.

More than 80 new ethanol plants have been built since then, with more expected by 2015, by which time the US will need to produce a further 5bn gallons of ethanol if it is to meet its renewable fuel standard.

According to Brown, the growing demand for US ethanol derived from grains helped to push world grain prices to record highs between late 2006 and 2008. In 2008, the Guardian revealed a secret World Bank report that concluded that the drive for biofuels by American and European governments had pushed up food prices by 75%, in stark contrast to US claims that prices had risen only 2-3% as a result.

Since then, the number of hungry people in the world has increased to over 1 billion people, according to the UN's World Food programme.

"Continuing to divert more food to fuel, as is now mandated by the US federal government in its renewable fuel standard, will likely only reinforce the disturbing rise in world hunger. By subsidising the production of ethanol to the tune of some $6bn each year, US taxpayers are in effect subsidising rising food bills at home and around the world," said Brown.

"The worst economic crisis since the great depression has recently brought food prices down from their peak, but they still remain well above their long-term average levels."

The US is by far the world's leading grain exporter, exporting more than Argentina, Australia, Canada, and Russia combined. In 2008, the UN called for a comprehensive review of biofuel production from food crops.

"There is a direct link between biofuels and food prices. The needs of the hungry must come before the needs of cars," said Meredith Alexander, biofuels campaigner at ActionAid in London. As well as the effect on food, campaigners also argue that many scientists question whether biofuels made from food crops actually save any greenhouse gas emissions.

Vice President Joe Biden told people attending an AARP town hall meeting that unless the Democrat-supported health care plan becomes law the nation will go bankrupt and that the only way to avoid that fate is for the government to spend more money.

“And folks look, AARP knows and the people with me here today know, the president knows, and I know, that the status quo is simply not acceptable,” Biden said at the event on Thursday in Alexandria, Va. “It’s totally unacceptable. And it’s completely unsustainable. Even if we wanted to keep it the way we have it now. It can’t do it financially.”

“We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden said.

Radio talker Stephanie Miller, outraged that Rush Limbaugh wants Barack Obama's policies to fail, has called for the nation's top talk host to be charged with treason and executed.

She made the call, not on her rather obscure radio program but on CNN's "Larry King Live" show Tuesday.

King seemed unfazed by the suggestion, neither following it up with a challenge or a question.

"To me that seems treasonous," Miller said. "If I could say something tonight that gets me that kind of attention, like maybe Rush Limbaugh should be executed for treason. How about that?"
