"Austerity" is one of those Orwellian terms that has been injected into our political discourse precisely because it is a nice-sounding word for a very painful reality. "Austerity" implies discipline, self-restraint, even nobility. "Austerity" is prudent. "Austerity" is modest. "Austerity" is a virtue. It is an end in itself.

If the IMF or the European Central Bank come to the people of a collapsing European nation and tell them to sacrifice their pensions and their savings and their very standard of living all for a debt that their government has fraudulently racked up in their name, no one would go for it, and rightly so.

But tell those same people that they need to implement "austerity measures" in order to "get back on their feet" economically, and many will be willing to live in the harshest of conditions, content to put up with the dismantling of their nation itself in the vain hope that by giving more power to the international financial institutions they can somehow avoid economic collapse...

FDA Proposes Dangerous Vaccine Rule Change

This past spring, the FDA took a hands-off approach to Merck’s admission that DNA from a lethal pig virus is contaminating doses of RotaTeq vaccine being swallowed by millions of newborn babies.1 Now the agency responsible for making sure pharmaceutical products do not hurt people is proposing a Rule Change to give one staff employee the sole authority to allow “exceptions or alternatives” when drug companies want to change vaccine ingredients, such as preservatives (like thimerosal) or adjuvants (like aluminum) or the amount of residual protein and antibiotics in vaccines.

The FDA’s proposed change to Requirements for Constituent Materials was quietly published in The Federal Register on March 30 and the deadline for public comment is only days away - on Monday, June 28. 2

The FDA is arguing that the rule change is necessary to “reduce burdens on industry” and to provide “greater flexibility and reduced regulatory requirements.” It gives one FDA staff Director the power to give drug companies the green light to “employ advances in science and technology as they become available” when companies want to make new vaccines really fast and get more bang for the buck.

If the proposed Rule Change is put into effect, a vaccine manufacturer could request a change in the content or amount of vaccine ingredients by simply writing a “brief statement describing the basis for the request and supporting data” as part of the original license application or for a pending or approved application. There is no information about how much scientific evidence the drug companies will have to submit to prove the new ingredients are safe; or whether the FDA’s Vaccine Advisory Committee will be able to review that evidence; or whether the American public will have a chance to comment before vaccine ingredients are changed.

This does not look like the transparency, public participation and collaboration in government that President Obama said he supports. 3 It removes the checks and balances necessary for good government.

Last year when federal health officials declared a pandemic H1N1 “swine flu” national emergency, drug companies put a full court press on the FDA to fast track licensure of highly reactive oil based squalene adjuvants 4 and the use of new technology, like insect cells, 5 to make pandemic influenza vaccines. During meetings of the FDA’s Vaccine Advisory Committee, the National Vaccine Information Center opposed both the quick licensure of squalene adjuvants, 6 which hyperstimulate the immune system and have been associated with autoimmunity, 7 8 9 10 and the use of insect cells, 11 which could be contaminated with insect viruses. 12 13 14

Neither technology was licensed by the FDA last year 15 16 but there are tens of thousands of doses of squalene that the federal government bought and is stored in warehouses waiting to be used. 17 If the proposed Rule Change goes into effect, will drug companies be able to put those doses of squalene in flu vaccines by getting only one FDA employee to say “yes?” This and other risks to health are waiting for the American people if drug companies can get quick approval from one person to raise the amount of mercury, 18 19 aluminum 20 21 22 23 or residual protein in vaccines, 24 25 which have been associated with chronic inflammation, brain and immune system damage. 26

This summer the American people are watching the horrifying consequences of inadequate federal regulation of the oil industry play out in the oil soaked Gulf coast. There are legitimate questions being asked about the cozy relationship and financial conflicts of interest between federal agency regulators and big oil companies partnering with the U.S. Government to generate billions of dollars for the U.S. Treasury. 27 Calls for an independent federal safety oversight agency to monitor offshore drilling are being made in congressional hearings.

NVIC has been calling for an independent vaccine safety oversight agency free from financial and ideological conflicts of interest 28 since Congress passed a law in 1997 allowing drug companies to pay the FDA to fast track licensure of new vaccines and drugs. 29 30 During the last decade, that fast track system has seen scores of risky drugs like Vioxx and reactive vaccines like Gardasil quickly licensed, only to be followed by tragic reports of deaths and injuries. 31 32

While federal health officials are spending millions of dollars of taxpayer money to persuade every American from infancy through the last year of life to take a flu shot every year, 33 and hundreds of new vaccines are now in clinical trials, 34 35 it is no time for the FDA to make it easier for drug companies to put whatever they want in vaccines. Giving absolute power to one FDA employee, who reports to unelected political appointees, who could be subjected to heavy pressure from Big Pharma lobbyists, is not the way to regulate vaccines for safety.

If you want to make your voice heard and tell the FDA Commissioner, President Obama and your elected congressional representatives in Washington, D.C. what you think about the proposed rule change making it easier for drug companies to put whatever potentially dangerous ingredients they want to in vaccines, take action now. Remember, you only have until this Monday, June 28 to take action.

It’s your health, Your family. Your choice. Help send a strong message to Washington that it is time for government to stop partnering with the pharmaceutical industry and RAISE the safety bar for drug companies enjoying congressionally mandated liability protection while making big profits from selling government mandated vaccines.

There is an interesting news report from Tennessee about a mysterious destruction of crops and just about everything else that grows. So far, the cause has not been determined, but we doubt if authorities are checking the plants to see if there is a residue of aluminum or barium that might be fallout from stratospheric spraying. We are hoping that someone in that area will be able to contact farmers or others who have reported this phenomenon and see if samples can be taken to a professional lab for analysis. This is happening in Tennessee along a large swath of land near the Shelby and Tipton county border along Herring Hill Road and elsewhere near the Mississippi River bottoms. Here's the news report. Decision will determine 'whether government controls the people'

A legal brief filed in a federal court dispute over the purchase and use of raw milk contends the court ultimately will determine "whether the people control the government, or whether the government controls the people."

"The decision of this court will either ensure that people have fundamental rights endowed to them by their Creator, or that the people have no rights except those that are conferred upon them bygovernment," attorneys for the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund have argued in their newest brief, which opposes the government's demand that the case be dismissed.

"Our research shows that this nation has a long history of consuming raw dairy products and that FDA's prohibition against taking raw dairy for human consumption across state lines runs counter to that national history," said fund President Pete Kennedy.

The brief argues, contrary to allegations by the FDA, everyone has the right to travel across state lines with raw dairy products in their possession, that everyone has the right to consume the foods of their choice, that parents have the right to feed their children the foods of their choice and that all have the right to be responsible for their own health.

"We believe we are breaking new ground in this case," said Gary Cox, the fund's general counsel. "Yet in a way, we are really asking the court to expressly recognize what our Founding Fathers implied in the Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution."

The Farm-to-Consumer organization brought the lawsuit earlier this year to overturn the federal ban that prohibits raw milk for human consumption in interstate commerce. The lawsuit alleges the federal rules on the issue are unconstitutional and outside the FDA's statutory authority as applied to members of the group.

The brief cites the damages that have been sustained by those who choose a natural food – raw milk – rather than the processed and packaged product produced by huge corporations that sits on store shelves.

One plaintiff in the case is Georgia resident Eric Wagoner, who was ordered by an FDA employee in a confrontation just months ago to dump out milk obtained in South Carolina and brought to him in Georgia.

The legal argument contends Wagoner was deprived of his own property when the raw milk was destroyed.

In the government's earlier motion to dismiss, its lawyers argued Americans have no fundamental right to choose what food they can have.

"There is no 'deeply rooted' historical tradition of unfettered access to foods of all kinds," states the document signed by U.S. Attorney Stephanie Rose, assistant Martha Fagg and Roger Gural, trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice.

"Plaintiffs' assertion of a 'fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families' is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish," thegovernment has argued.

The new brief from the Farm-to-Consumer organization contends government over the years has infringed on many God-given rights, such as slavery and the ban on interracial marriage.

"Currently, unfortunately, government is telling its citizens that they do not have the right to travel across state lines with raw dairy products in their possession; that individuals do not have the right to a healthy body; and that parents do not have the right to feed themselves and their families the foods of their choice. This notion is paternalistic and treats its citizens as wards of the state who are incapable of making decisions for themselves," the Farm-to-Consumer brief states.

"This case is about liberty and freedom and presents an issue of first impression in the federal courts that addresses this current form of oppression. Plaintiffs represent the tipping point of a food-rights movement that involves knowing one's source of food; becoming responsible for what foods go into one's body; becoming responsible for one's health; ensuring that one's family and children grow up healthy with an excellent immune system; and engaging in conduct with similar like-minded individuals to promote a healthier and happier America."

The focal point is a set of FDA regulations that largely ban consumers from buying raw milk and taking it across state lines, even for their own consumption.

"FDA's regulatory program has no application to a private group of citizens who have opted out of the industrial food system and choose to consume raw dairy products provided to them directly by a farmer, with no commingling or processing, in direct, private transactions," the brief states.

WND has reported several times on fed crackdowns on producers of raw milk for friends and neighbors, including the recent case when agents arrived to inspect a private property belonging to Dan Allgyer in Pennsylvania at 5 a.m.

The incident was followed by a report a few days later of a proposal in Congress that critics say would do for the nation's food supply what the new health-care-reform law has done for health-care resources.

"S. 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the U.S.," asserted Steve Green on the Food Freedom blog. "It is to our food what the bailout was to our economy, only we can live without money."

Senate Democrats Plot 'Impenetrable' Path to Victory for Unwritten Climate Bill

Senate Democrats believe they've found a surefire way to force Republicans to support a sweeping climate and energy bill that directly addresses greenhouse gas emissions.

Now all they need is the actual legislation.

Democrats admitted yesterday that they have yet to rally around any of the legislative proposals currently on the table but now believe they know how to use the Gulf of Mexico oil spill to secure the necessary Republican votes once they do.

According to a staff-written summary of yesterday's closed-door caucus meeting obtained by E&E, senators discussed a legislative strategy "more akin to the financial regulatory legislation than of health care, with Democrats bringing to the floor an impenetrable package that Republicans could not roadblock."

Democratic senators declined to discuss the exact details of their strategy after emerging from the hourlong talks. But its basic thrust appears to be a plan to anchor the climate and energy effort to widely popular legislation that would overhaul offshore drilling regulations in the wake of the Gulf spill, and then dare Republicans to vote against it.

"We're going to challenge some of our Republican colleagues to do what I know they know is the right and necessary thing for America, and we're going to get 60 votes or more," Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) told reporters.

WHAT WILL IT TAKE FELLOW AMERICANS? HAD ENOUGH?

It has been a while since I wrote an editorial. I have been engaged in the business of teaching my fellow patriots to have a plan and to get one now. With what has happened across America politically as the cowards and sell-outs celebrated their latest freedom killing legislation, the apocalypse arrived in the Gulf of Mexico.

On Thursday, May 20^th, I joined my close friend “Hawk” on a radio broadcast heard across America and Canada. To say the least, it was ground breaking and set the pace for ALL reporting that has come since that time. That night, I broke the “story behind the story” regarding the cataclysm that is threatening America’s survival. With the failure of every aspect of the Obama administration and the complicit disregard for the ongoing conspiracy that has become British Petroleum, FEMA, EPA, Homeland Security, the Justice Department, the U.S. Senate, the Pentagon, the F.B.I. and anything else connected to the United States government, America has finally succumbed to greed and evil beyond our ability to understand.

I was the first to outline COMPLETELY and in great detail, exactly what was transpiring and what the response would be to the death of the Gulf of Mexico, and ultimately the fate of all life and culture that has been the Gulf coast. As I wrote down the information given by over three dozen sources within law enforcement, the military, university researchers and federal assets, it was painfully clear that this was destined to be the worst calamity initiated by men in the history of the world. Nothing has changed that assessment since that day.

I felt that we took an enormous personal, professional and creditability risk, but to NOT bring the information to the American people and ultimately the world was insanely irresponsible. “Hawk” was adamant and very supportive that our people needed to know right then how ultimately serious this catastrophe was and is to yet become. I have completed fifteen radio interviews including one in Europe over the past three weeks. To recount all in those broadcasts here would be redundant and space consuming.

In short form, I stated eighteen points, all of which have been precisely revealed over the past five weeks, and confirmed over and over by experts in a position to know. I prayed that I would be wrong and that this would be settled in short order with only a “minimum” of damage and injury. The part that I received the most criticism about was the wave of deadly gases, the methane issue and ultimate evacuations. I further broke the news that the horrible dispersants being sprayed from the air were exponentially far worse than the ongoing effects of the high pressure “volcano” of raw oil from a fragile, fracturing gulf seabed floor due to the pressure release from such an insanely deep well. Lastly, along with many other issues I stated that Florida would be affected quickly as the oil took the Gulf Stream turn and would end up in England and Bremerhaven. I did not know that there would be a second demon in the form of leaching radioactivity to further seal the fate of life in the Gulf and for residents a dire choice of what to do and when.

The government of the United States in this crises, cannot find its ass with both hands and a Chinese made, Wal-Mart sold, genuine, guaranteed, remote controlled, ass-finder. Obama makes Bush look like General George S. Patton, and that is going some for me. The Bush family is the incarnation of the world cabal and joins Bill Clinton, Jimmy “clueless” Carter, and all of the other 20^th century complicit “Illuminati” approved presidents that brought us to the last generation of “freedom” bearing citizens that will ever know even the slightest taste of true sovereignty—without a fight.

My task of training and preparing Americans for the latest holocaust endorsed by the Bilderberg Klan, England’s “Queen of Spades,” the Council on Foreign Relations, etc., etc., has begun what I truly pray will be the next and hopefully last, real, genuine revolution in this country. There is no more time to mince words about the dying state of America. Peaceful transition to a resurrected republic is still the desired goal, however, the apprehension and incarceration of all complicit politicians, judges, federal agency heads, corrupted law enforcement, oath breaking military officers, scamming bankers and power mad, money lusting business moguls, must now be sought at all costs. To do anything less, condemns our nation to absolute destruction and misery destined only for a sick, sin-ridden people who have neither the guts nor the cogent, intelligent ability to force an end to this century and a half of the absolute, planned destruction of our Constitutional Republic.

Have we become desperate enough yet to do what we should have done fifty or one hundred years ago? Have we given enough of our treasure and blood to achieve the goal of the world’s elite through world wars, on-going mercenary interventions to guard the opium fields under the forever lie of “we are defending freedom” crap that is a breeding ground for executive military action soldiers vs. patriots in the streets of America?

I teach people to formulate a plan of action to avoid the government agents from handing you an Obama plan as you enter a FEMA camp or are waiting for a G-ride on a deuce and a half complete with a complimentary MRE because you broke down along an interstate highway heading north out of the gulf in an evacuation made necessary by the fouling of the air and water as far as the eye and lungs could see or feel.

These “plans” include everything you need to know and carry out when the count down clock hits zero. It was made necessary because the majority of you didn’t take the time or make the slightest effort to prepare for the worst case scenario ever to be contemplated. Ask those whom I have trained. They will state unequivocally that now they have a good chance. To the great men and women across America who have pledged to defend their states, communities, families and friends in every way humanly possible is an encouragement to me beyond words. The only thing these good folks threaten is the beast of dictatorship, corruption in government, and robbery BY the banks. We need the absolute elimination of communist front groups like Morris Dee’s Southern Poverty Law Center and the American Civil Liberties Union. ANYTHING communistic, socialistic, or “universal” is an affront to constitutional patriots and MUST be eradicated by whatever means is necessary and available. That is a no-compromise zone. Otherwise, why have we engaged the Nazi’s and the communists in the past? Was it just to make money for the world cabal?? Yes. Was it to set the ultimate disaster that would take down the USA? Yes. Was this done to break the will, the minds and the hearts of our gullible citizens? Yes. Is there a confrontation coming between the people of this nation and its government’s sinister federal gun-toting agents of evil and intimidation? Most decisively, YES! YES! YES! HAVE YOU HAD ENOUGH YET? WILL YOU JOIN WITH OTHERS AND CREATE YOUR PLAN TO SURVIVE THE IMMINENT COLLAPSE OF AMERICA?????

You are at this moment, either cursing me or pounding the table in agreement. There is no middle ground anymore. If you are silent and seething with the thought that commentators like me and others have made your life miserable, then you must now accept the reality of this horrible moment and plan accordingly. In an advanced training class thirty years ago I read the banner above the board that said, “On the plains of desolation, lie the blackened bones of those who at the most critical moment in their lives,

HESITATED.” Could it be more clear? For the sake of your nation, your family, your own destiny, and the fate of our nation, please do not hesitate.

Train, think and discipline every aspect of your life for survival in a post freedom, world. Prepare for whole system breakdowns. Provision for many months and shelter against a raging storm of galactic proportions. If you do, you will step out with a purpose and will to make it. If you do not, then rest assured your fear will be the last thing you feel before the grinding wheel of misery takes you out. What will you say to your friends and family? How will they regard you? Hated or heroic? Free or slave? Warrior or captive? Your actions, not the government’s, the police or anyone else will determine how and where you will spend the rest of your lives. Ultimately, the words of God himself are all that matter. “Well done, good and FAITHFUL servant, enter into the glory of Heaven.” That is ultimate truth, period.

Will you meet the challenge before you? I will try to bring you some reports from the field next time and some encouragement to not surrender. We all need that and I promise you there will be more positive insight just down the road. What I wrote this time was to get you ready for the struggle.

The petro-chemical-military-industrial complex is gassing Gulf Coast residents with poisonous Benzene and Corexit dispersant at dangerously high levels in the largest U.S. domestic military operation to date. The military and FEMA are engaged in Emergency Plans for 36 urban areas from Texas to Florida due to the unstoppable Gulf oil volcano the size of Mt. Everest, as WMR reports, indicating evacuations. Some people are advised to relocate now. (See Parts III and IV)

Satellite imagery that Obama's administration withheld shows "under the gaping chasm spewing oil at an ever-alarming rate is a cavern estimated to be around the size of Mount Everest. This information has been given an almost national security-level classification to keep it from the public," writes Wayne Madsen.

Human suffering in the Gulf is increasing from the world's latest and largest toxic oil kill as BP lies and government remains silent about human health risks and associated military interventions. Most immediately damaging of the operation's withheld information pertains to toxins breathed since the explosion.

Southerners reporting illnesses with symptoms reflecting Benzene and Corexit poisoning have had to face some leaders suggesting the cause to be mental illness, "stress", while others, such as BP chief Tony Hayward, blamed the illness on rotten food.

Hayward is the guy who sold his £1.4 million shares in BP one month before the Gulf "spill." This in turn caused a collapse of value and a saving to him of over £423,000 when BP’s share price plunged after its predicted destruction in the gulf according to the Telegraph. (Since Hayward's pay package of £4 million a year had been insufficient, cashing out enabled him to pay off the mortgage on his family’s mansion in Kent.)

No monitors, no dispersant toxicity studies

Other life-risking withheld information is that chemicals released have not been monitored. WMR colleague John Caylor, a Gulf Coast resident, reported, "BP and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which have stated that several hundred air quality monitors have been deployed around the Florida and Alabama coasts and have not detected any benzene levels that would be harmful to human health, are lying." A senior news source at WEAR-TV, ABC's affiliate in Pensacola told Caylor that "there are no air quality monitors that have been deployed along the coastal bays and inlets by either BP or the EPA. The station sent reporters out to check on the monitors and discovered they were non-existent." (Emphasis added)

"ABC News network out of New York and CNN are echoing the BP and Obama administration's lines that the air quality is being monitored and is perfectly safe," wrote Caylor. WWL TV reports monitors are being now used in south Louisiana. (See video #2 below)

The spewing oil and dispersant chemicals are toxic enough for so many people to become ill, evacuation would be required, especially before a hurricane blows the lethal cocktail over more Southerners. Hurricane season 2010, anticipated to be highly active and strong, will bring the oil and ipersant chemicals further inland, impacting health of too many people to be ignored. Already, even mainstream news reports 70 people in Louisiana have been admitted to hospital with symptoms of toxic poisoning. New Orleans area officials have urged people without means to evacuate before a hurricane to register now.

"Get a game plan now," WWL reported.

Corexit and Benzene Gulf gas combo effects

On May 1, two U.S. Department of Defense C-130 Hercules aircraft were employed to spray oil dispersant, Corexit EC9500A and Corexit EC9527A. Dispersant information, however, was "kept secret under competitive trade laws."

The stated purpose of using more chemicals on the chemical spill was "to break up the oil into tiny droplets that sink and can be more readily dispersed by ocean currents, to diminish the oil’s effect on sea life and shore habitats." (New York Times, BP and EPA Skirmish Over Oil Dispersant, May 24, 2010) Mother Nature's non-chemical, safe, effective bio-remediation method (see Youtube below) of disposing of the oil was dismissed. Safe and effective solutions for human and environmental survival are not part of the agenda.

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) "Fact sheets" page for Nalco's Corexit has pdfs available for "Dispersant Type 1," Corexit 9500 (PDF); and "Dispersant Type 2," Corexit 9527A (PDF). Tom Philpott of Grist, who found that these product numbers matched those identified unofficially by his sources, writes,

"The data sheets for both products contain this shocker: 'No toxicity studies have been conducted on this product" -- meaning testing their safety for humans and both data sheets include the warning 'human health hazards: acute.'" (Emphasis added)

As Philpott reported, the MSDS for Corexit 9527A states

'excessive exposure may cause central nervous system effects, nausea, vomiting, anesthetic or narcotic effects,' and 'repeated or excessive exposure to butoxyethanol [an active ingredient] may cause injury to red blood cells (hemolysis), kidney or the liver.'

'"Prolonged and/or repeated exposure through inhalation or extensive skin contact with EGBE [butoxyethanol] may result in damage to the blood and kidneys.'"

The solvents 2-Butoxyethanol and petroleum distillate appear "most dangerous," writes Philpott, but these chemicals continue to be saturating water and air.

Out of work shrimper, oil clean-up work Clint Guidry reported, “The closest I got [to the Gulf water] was Venice, Louisiana, and you could smell it from Venice... they were actually spraying Corexit 9527A on the oil spill on top of the water and spraying all around - Venice sits on a peninsula, the Mississippi River, right at the - right above the Head of the Passes.

"And they were actually spraying this Corexit in the air all around where people were living, with kids and children, and continuously saying how safe it was."

By May 24, New York Times reported that 700,000 US gallons (2,600,000 l) of Corexit dispersants had gassed the area, "approaching a world record." BP was ordered to take “immediate steps to scale back the use of dispersants" that the military was reportedly spraying. Both entities seemingly follow orders from a higher command. Chemical gassing of Gulf life continued.

Benzene, or "swamp gas," the toxin released by fossil fuel oil, is lethal enough for public health concern and action without Corexit. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has determined that benzene causes severe human injury such as chromosomal, and is a human carcinogen. Exposure to high levels of benzene is associated with leukemia cancer: acute myelogenous leukemia, acute lymphocytic leukemia, and chronic myelogenous leukemia. Benzene-related leukemias have been reported to develop in as short as nine months according to IARC.

The satiation of toxic air, water and food has posed serious health risks to all people of the Gulf, but especially to pregnant women, the elderly and people with health vulnerabilities such as asthma and emphysema. Gina Solomon, NRDC Senior Scientist outlined health risks Louisianians and other Gulf Coast residents face.

Only days after BPs greatest oil assault began, Solomon recommended that pregnant women leave the oil spill area since fossil fuel oil toxins cause miscarriages.

Oil spill VOC (volatile chemicals) acute health effects include "headaches, dizziness and nausea," and "[o]ver the long term, many of these chemicals have been linked to cancer, so there are lots of reasons to worry about inhaling them," advised Solomon. (Dupre, Hitting rock bottom calls for intervention, Examiner, May 9, 2010) The first nine Gulf spill workers were hospitalized for "dizziness, headaches and nausea" as Solomon predicted weeks before according to VOC effects, plus shortness of breath and nosebleeds, likely symptomatic of Corexit.

Adding fire to the fuel, burning the slick as the petrochemical-military-industrial complex are also doing, has compounded the public health risk. Dr. Marcel Casavant, chief of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, has stated, "Smoke from burning oil contains many chemicals; some are potentially lethal poisons...” (ABC News, BP Gulf Oil Spill: Human Health Risks Small But Fears May Linger) Casavant indicates those at greatest risk are children.

Oil toxic poisoning does not always have immediate impact. One study showed that the effect is generational: women exposed to oil toxins have daughters with reproductive health problems, such as miscarriages. Within days of the Gulf incident, the smell of oil was so strong in coastal deep south, it was reported that one lady had to shut all her windows, turn on her AC and "if her asthma keeps up like this, she'll need to go on her breathing machine tonight." Meanwhile, police were driving up and down the beach "explicitly telling tourists to 'just stay out of the water.'" (It's BP's Oil, Mother Jones, May 24, 2010) That was almost a month ago. How is she now?

Harassed for attempted survival

CNN reported that commercial shrimper working on the "clean-up," John Wunstell Jr. filed a temporary restraining order in federal court against BP to stop its harassment of workers that voice health concerns. He "wants the oil giant to give the workers masks." Among first reported workers hospitalized for oil/gas injury, Wuntsell alleges that BP confiscated his clothing stripped from him in the hospital, and told him that they would not be returned. This story is eerily similar to those of Nazi gas chambers.

Louisiana Shrimpers Association also accused BP of threatening to fire fisherman from cleanup jobs if they complain about health problems or wear masks. (See Gulf Spill Workers Hopsitalized, Restraining Orders sought, News Inferno) Clean-up worker fishermen were not given respirators, "not even those working in the most dangerous area, closest to the well still spewing oil into the Gulf of Mexico," reported Guidry.

Such negative public relations for corporatism has almost been blacked-out. Gulf Coast residents lack information about serious risks BP's poisons are inflicting on them. Solomon's words of warning were a silenced clarion call to Gulf residents.

Americans are no longer prepared to take care of their basic needs without the involvement of the federal government. The majority of Americans have relinquished the responsibility of their future survival to bureaucrats. How and when did we, as an intelligent and formerly self-reliant populace, decide to become wards of the state?

Since September 11, 2001 this country has faced numerous disasters both man-made and natural. It is evident after these disasters the majority of the population is unable to fend for themselves without government assistance. In only a matter of days, people run out of food and water, no longer able to take care of their families. They then expect some level of government to open up centers which will provide the necessary sustenance to support their families during these emergencies. Basic needs cannot be met without outside assistance. In less than 60 years Americans have lost the knowledge and will to be self-sufficient. How did this happen?

The federal government, in conjunction with large food suppliers, has seduced the citizens into servitude. The greater part of the population no longer maintains more than seven days of food supply in their homes (paycheck to paycheck). Some may argue this is untrue but it is imperative to be able convert raw foodstuffs into an edible product. If you have basic ingredients but no water, heat source, or electricity those raw foodstuffs might as well be located on another planet. American citizens have succumbed to the lie that everything will be available to them at all times in all circumstances. Americans now spend their money on frivolous goods and services which will not protect them against a possible disaster. If one had the ability to inspect any citizen’s food supply they would be minimal and nutritionally harmful. Food products purchased today are processed to the point of having the actual nutrients degraded in the attempt at extending shelf life. Even Americans themselves seem to have a shelf life after death. A lifetime ingesting foods packed with preservatives and the residuals have significantly altered the very essence of what makes our bodies tick. Americans have fallen into the trap of a never-ending supply of food stuffs from the local grocery store. The just in time inventory system we mimicked from the Japanese has certainly increased efficiency but it has greatly increased risks in food supply if interruptions occur. No one ever questions what happens if that supply suddenly stops or their income ceases to exist.

The example before us today is the oil spill catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico. This affects a wide swath of wage earners in the gulf region with immense and unpredictable second and third order effects for the rest of the country. The impacted individuals no longer have the capacity to earn a living and limited job prospects, at least in this country. Food lines are now the order of the day in the region. The people now find themselves at the abject mercy of an indifferent, disengaged government bureaucracy only intent on expanding their agenda and the population’s dependency. Listen to the rhetoric from the federal government. Their major concern is not the people or the cleanup, it is how they will extort large sums of money from BP, how they will push forward their Cap and Trade fiasco and how they can take over yet another sector of the economy. The old-school media will cover any usurpation for the current administration in the face of this catastrophe. There will be limited blame placed on some minor bureaucrats with the majority of the fault falling to BP. The assignation of blame is only relevant because the federal government will use this as an opportunity to seize more power and control over business and the lives of the citizens. The economic illiteracy on the part of the government media complex is astounding. If BP is fined, that will have no impact on fuel prices down the line?

Hurricane Katrina and Rita were only small windows into what the country might face in the future. Those natural disasters were limited in scope and therefore did not reach the full consciousness of the American people. Yes, we were quick to blame the political powers for failing to act quickly in response to those disasters, especially if we were diametrically opposed to their agendas. Those disasters pale in scale to what the Gulf Coast now faces in conjunction with a grossly incompetent federal government and complicit media. The lethal combination of incompetence and the ability to have an unlimited scope in meddling is a recipe to make the Greater Depression worse than it is already.

Controlling the food supply has been the plan of the federal government for an extremely long time. The creation of the FDA was fundamental to the execution of this plan. Working in conjunction with large agribusiness and complicit media they now control the destiny of the majority of the population of the United States. They are attempting to eliminate all small farming operations through overbearing regulations and a wink and a nod in the courtroom to patent regulations for the agribusiness lobby. Part of the agenda is to force all small operations to microchip every animal and provide tracking information to the federal government. The large agribusiness operators will not be subject to the same regulations as small farmers. They will be exempt from providing the same information because of the political power they wield through the purchase of politicians.

It is a historical fact that whoever controls the food controls the people. History is replete with examples of what happens when a corrupt and ruthless government controls the food supply. In the 1930’s, Russia starved 10 million Ukrainians to death by stealing all the food produced in their country because they would not support Stalin’s farm collectivization program. Hitler used starvation in Poland for the mass murder of the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. America is now poised for the same fate since they are unable to feed their families in the face of a disaster or corrupt government.

There are many reasons the food supply might cease functioning in United States. Natural or man-made disasters are the preeminent possibilities which might precipitate a food stoppage. We do not want to contemplate the stoppage may be due the interference of the federal government. The question that must be asked is how we survive as a people in the event of a long-term interruption of the food supply? The majority of the population no longer has any understanding of raising their own food supply. No longer are we capable of going to our seed supply and planting a survival garden. If a family does have seed, it is imperative to ask a question. Is the seed the heirloom variety or the genetically altered large agribusiness strain? If it is the genetically altered variety then it is part of the trap and that family will starve. Genetically altered seeds render them viable for one season with no ability to harvest seed for future planting. The unprepared with no stockpile of heirloom seeds will be at the mercy of the government or whoever holds the power.

The stoppage of the food supply is only an example of what might transpire in the event of a disaster. We, as a people, are an unprepared population. There are many books written concerning what this country might face in a disaster which also address the impact of a massive economic or social collapse of the government. I urge everyone to read these tomes and educate themselves as to what might transpire and to better prepare for the unspeakable but inevitable future. It is incumbent upon each family to prepare themselves for the coming crisis our country will eventually have to endure. It is naïve at best and foolish at worst to believe our country is too big to fail. The preparation of an informed populace will define how we survive as a people in the event of a major disaster or economic collapse.

Evans-Pritchard Announces Fed Contemplating $5 Trillion QE Expansion

In his latest column, the Daily Telegraph’s A. Evans-Pritchard does a good job of recapping all the various reasons why Bernanke has now completely cornered himself, and facing a newly collapsing economy, is left with just one recourse: the printing of more, more, more paper. This should not come as a surprise to anyone who has read even a few posts on Zero Hedge – the only response the Fed is left with as deflation accelerates, and as the Fed and the banking cabal refuse to do an orderly reorganization whereby financial firms grow into their balance sheets via a debt restructuring (and equity wipe out), is the spewage of more, inflation-stimulating, fiat. Ironically, as this newly printed and rapidly diluted monetary representation (because it increasingly is not equivalent to money) makes its way only and almost exclusively to those with direct discount window access, i.e., the mega banks (and for some ungodly reason, the clearinghouses soon), the assets that will be bid up are all tangible commodities, while secondary assets, which are contingent on a properly functioning reserve banking (money multiplier) system, collapse in a deflated heap of liquidations. Yet one notable section in AEP’s post draw our attention: “Key members of the five-man Board are quietly mulling a fresh burst of asset purchases, if necessary by pushing the Fed’s balance sheet from $2.4 trillion (£1.6 trillion) to uncharted levels of $5 trillion.” We are very curious where the DT’s reporter has found this information, since if it comes from a credible source this is a massive game changer, and while many have speculated this will happen sooner or later, to know for a fact that QE is definitely coming is major news, and, if true, we are stunned the WSJ’s Jon Hilsenrath, who recently has had his ear “very close” to the Fed’s internal process, has not reported on this yet.

Incidentally, the $5 trillion number was referenced previously on Zero Hedge in a post by RBS economist, and uber-realist, Bob Janjuah, as follows:

All that’s now left, as I have said before, is for the Fed to shift to a USD5trn or so new QE programme, likely in co-ordination with a bunch of other central banks, which in total may give us USD10trn or more of new QE. But this isn’t happening until much much later this yr or, more likely, next yr.

We agree with Bob: the next QE phase will most certainly not occur before the midterms, which as the recent abdication of a national budget demonstrated, are a critical priority for the administration, over and above the telegraphing of the country’s catastrophic state to the general population, which is precisely what a nuclear monetary blast would be (let alone a new fiscal one – it is no incident that today, for the first time, a new $35 billion unemployment stimulus bill crashed in the Congress after it could not muster enough votes). Therefore, we are confident that the Fed has its hands tied well until December, although we anticipate a January lift off date for QE version 2 and final, which, as Bob Janjuah notes, will likely come in collaboration with every single central bank in the world, in one last (failed) reflation attempt: the final spasm for the Keynesian religion.

Restaurants and bars are whacked with county health violations if they so much as operate a dysfunctional dishwasher, and yet cops are given free reign to swagger through businesses on horseback in some kind of bizarre display of letting the scum know who their bosses are.

Remember one of the early scenes in the classic movie Planet of the Apes? The apes on horseback ride roughshod over the scurrying humans, whipping them into submission, capturing them in huge nets, and reminding them that they are slaves.

Armed with torture devices known as “Tasers,” all that cops in Tampa Florida are missing is the whip, because apparently they believe that, as Gods and masters of the serfs and not public servants, they have the right to ride on horseback through private businesses in an effort scare the patrons of bars and restaurants into submission.

“Police officers on horseback have become a familiar sight in Tampa’s Ybor City, but recently someone snapped a video clip of one officer walking the beat not around a local business but right through it,” reports WTSP.com.

“Eleven seconds into the video, you can hear a woman scream. Apparently, the owners of a tattoo parlor adjacent to the bar – are worried that with big crowds on weekends someone could get hurt.”

But the scream is the desired response – this is all about the thug cops, who have been trained that Americans are dangerous domestic terrorists, asserting their dominance over the gelded public in a public display of power similar to how a big fat magpie arrogantly struts across a garden to frighten away smaller birds.

This is psychological terrorism on an animalistic level, a way of brainwashing the dumbed-down public into cowering and screaming whenever a God police officer approaches.

The fact that this violates every health and safety code in the book, which is thrown at business owners for petty infractions on a routine basis, is another example of how society is now being divided into a two-tier caste system of masters and servants.

The majority of respondents to the story agreed.

“A “strong presence” huh?” asks one. “Why stop here? Why not brown shirts and swastikas? Jack booted thugs on every corner are a “strong presence” too and we aren’t far away”.

“Nothing says police oppression and disease, more than indoor trotting horses,” adds another.

Methane and Martial Law in the Gulf of Mexico

Earlier this week Reuters reported on a massive amount of methane discovered in the Gulf of Mexico. Texas A&M University oceanography professor John Kessler said methane gas levels in some areas are “astonishingly high.” Kessler recently returned from a 10-day research expedition near the BP oil gusher. Kessler’s team measured both surface and deep water within a 5-mile (8 kilometer) radius of BP’s destroyed wellhead. “There is an incredible amount of methane in there,” Kessler told reporters. He said the level may be as much as one million times the normal level.

In late May BP said methane makes up about 40 percent of the leaking crude by mass. In addition to methane, large mounts of toxic hydrogen sulfide, benzene and methylene chloride are leaking into the Gulf according to the EPA and others.

Lindsay Williams, a former Alaskan pipeline chaplain with high-level oil industry connections, told the Alex Jones Show on June 10 that deadly gases are indeed escaping from the breached wellhead.

Investigative journalist Wayne Madson, writing for Oil Price, states that his sources inside the federal government, FEMA, and the US Army Corps of Engineers are dealing with a prospective “dead zone” created by the escaping methane within a 200 mile radius from the Deepwater Horizon disaster.

In addition, Madsen reports, Corexit 9500, the oil dispersant used by BP, is viewed by FEMA sources as mixing with evaporated water from the Gulf. This deadly mixture is then absorbed by rain clouds and produces toxic precipitation that threatens to continue killing marine and land animals, plant life, and humans within a 200-mile radius of the Deepwater Horizon disaster site in the Gulf.

The “dead zone” created by a combination of methane gas and Corexit toxic rain, Madsen continues, will ultimately result in the evacuation and long-term abandonment of cities and towns within the 200-mile radius of the oil gusher.

“Plans are being put in place for the mandatory evacuation of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mandeville, Hammond, Houma, Belle Chase, Chalmette, Slidell, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pensacola, Hattiesburg, Mobile, Bay Minette, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Crestview, and Pascagoula,” Madsen writes.

On June 13, SoCal Martial Law Alerts (SCMLA) predicted that Gulf states would be evacuated. “Greg Evensen, a retired Kansas Highway Patrolman, estimates that 30-40 million people would need to be evacuated away from the Gulf’s coastline (i.e. at least 200 miles inland),” SCMLA reported.

In order to accomplish this gargantuan feat, the federal government (through FEMA and other agencies) would most likely seek first to control and manage the transportation system and then operate relocation centers to manage evacuees. Toward this end, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has already declared the airspace over the oil spill site to be a no-fly zone until further notice. Various sources have indicated that local police, highway patrol, National Guard, US military and foreign troops may be involved in an operation to evacuate the Gulf Coast. In fact, the Governor of Louisiana has already requested evacuation assistance (i.e. National Guard) for his state from the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Madsen’s trusted sources now lend credence to the SCMLA report.

DK Matai reports that by some geologists’ estimates, the methane now escaping into the Gulf may have been part of a massive bubble trapped for thousands of years under the sea floor. “More than a year ago, geologists expressed alarm in regard to BP and Transocean putting their exploratory rig directly over this massive underground reservoir of methane. Warnings were raised before the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe that the area of seabed chosen might be unstable and inherently dangerous,” writes Matai.

Matai and others fear the methane — under intense pressure (experts estimate the pressure to be between 30,000 and 70,000 pounds per square inch) — may form a bubble that would then rupture the seabed and erupt with an explosion.

“The bubble is likely to explode upwards propelled by more than 50,000 psi of pressure, bursting through the cracks and fissures of the sea floor, fracturing and rupturing miles of ocean bottom with a single extreme explosion,” Matai explains. “If the toxic gas bubble explodes, it might simultaneously set off a tsunami traveling at a high speed of hundreds of miles per hour. Florida might be most exposed to the fury of a tsunami wave. The entire Gulf coastline would be vulnerable, if the tsunami is manifest. Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and southern region of Georgia might experience the effects of the tsunami according to some sources.”

Private contractors went house-to-house confiscating weapons after Hurriance Katrina.

In is not certain the federal government is concerned about the prospect of a tsunami. However, if Madsen’s sources are correct, they are concerned about the release of deadly hydrogen sulfide, benzene, methylene chloride, and the prospect of toxic rain.

A mass evacuation of the Gulf states would be impossible without a declaration of martial law. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the government all but declared martial law in New Orleans and the southern Gulf Coast — it was deemed a “state of emergency,” not officially martial law — and this gave rise to the largest military mobilization since the so-called Civil War. Combat-equipped troops and private contractors went house-to-house to enforce the complete removal of the civilian population in New Orleans and also confiscate guns and leave residents defenseless.

Moreover, FEMA imposed iron-grip censorship of the media. On September 7, 2005, MSNBC’s Brian Williams reported that the city had “reached a near-saturation level of military and law enforcement.” Williams and his crew were ordered to stop taking photographs by gun-toting National Guard troops. Williams said he experienced “the palpable feeling that this area is somehow separate from the United States.”

Indeed, if Florida and the Gulf states are evacuated as predicted — and again, Madsen’s sources are usually impeccable — a large part of the country will be separated from the United States and placed under martial law.

Japanese told to go to bed an hour early to cut carbon emissions

The Japanese government has launched a campaign encouraging people to go to bed and get up extra early in order to reduce household carbon dioxide emissions.

The Morning Challenge campaign, unveiled by the Environment Ministry, is based on the premise that swapping late night electricity for an extra hour of morning sunlight could significantly cut the nation’s carbon footprint.

A typical family can reduce its carbon dioxide footprint by 85kg a year if everyone goes to bed and gets up one hour earlier, according to the campaign.

The amount of carbon dioxide emissions potentially saved from going to bed an hour early was the equivalent of 20 per cent of annual emissions from household lights, “Many Japanese people waste electric power at night time, for example by watching TV until very late,” a ministry spokesperson told The Daily Telegraph.

Oil Industry Insider and CFR Member Predicts Gulf Evacuation

Buried in an article on Gulf of Mexico scenarios and predictions, Joel Achenbach of the Washington Post quotes Matthew Simmons, founder and chairman emeritus of Simmons & Company International.

In response to a tropical storm brewing in the Caribbean, Simmons says: “We’re going to have to evacuate the gulf states. Can you imagine evacuating 20 million people?… This story is 80 times worse than I thought.”

The National Hurricane Center said today that a stormy region in the Caribbean will get organized and strengthen into a tropical storm. It has a 40 percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone — in other words, a hurricane — in the next two days, an estimate that was at zero a few days ago. “Upper-level winds are expected to become more conducive for development of this system as it moves westward or west-northwestward around 10 mph over the next couple of days,” the NHC told the Baltimore Sun. “There is a medium chance (40 percent) of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.”

AccuWeather.com forecaster Joe Bastardi said steering winds could bring the storm into the Gulf of Mexico by early next week. Gulf waters are very warm, so that would not be good news, according to Bastardi. An AccuWeather.com illustration (above) depicts the storm pushing oil onshore.

The U.S. is withholding vast Arctic and offshore resources … and that isn’t likely to change in our lifetime. The End of The Great Bailouts is Approaching

The devastating results of Keynesianism didn't take hold of the western world until after WWII. Cycles were created for the accumulation of wealth. A boom occurs and you get wealthy from investments on the way up and even wealthier on the way down, because the elitists are controlling the supply of money and credit and interest rates. That is the real underlying mission of the Fed, which is owned by banking and Wall Street. All the power to control markets and create inflation and deflation lies with the Federal Reserve. Politicians do not create monetary policy, the Fed does. The politicians do as they are told. They know from time to time there will be economic pain, but the payoffs are so good they learn to live with it.

This time the damage is so bad that the Fed has been forced to monetize trillions of dollars of debt. The disease this time has spread to Europe with the ECB, using, quantitative easing by simply creating money out of thin air. That is something they said they would never do. The only real liquidity in Europe is emanating from the ECB and the Fed. We believe that eventually countries will fail, as Iceland has. You know all the possible victims. There are presently 20 of them including the US and UK. Three-card Monte games do not last forever. If liquidity is that scarce then where is the money coming from? The only place it could be coming from is the Fed. Not only is a $2 trillion bailout in process, but also as banks and thrift institutions fail stress tests some will be bailed out by being absorbed by other supposedly solvent institutions. When that option is gone then governments must bail them out. When the monetization hits the entire system collapses. After 50 or more years in this business we believe the system is definitely going to fold.

All the central banks involved are broke or virtually broke. If they are not broke why is their condition a big secret? The Bundesbank told Spain last week that we do not want stress test results made public. The reason obviously was because of the sad condition German banks are in and their penchant again to keep everything secret. These are the same people who want a one-world currency in the form of an SDR, which is worthless, because it has no backing. It is just another fiat currency. They all are in such bad shape they cannot even sterilize their interventions. The new trillions we see in the system in Europe and the US cannot be sterilized.

In England we see the Bank of England financing and monetizing the UK budget deficit. The alternative is financial collapse. The UK is in such terrible shape that they refused to partake in the almost $1 trillion bailout of the euro zone PIIGS. Recently the Fed bought $1.25 trillion in toxic waste and $800 billion in Treasury paper for over $2 trillion dollars. Adding to the incompetence and desperation, the ECB is buying the toxic debt of euro zone that are on the verge of bankruptcy. All entities are extending their debt buying programs with money they do not have and for people that can never pay the debt back. The central banks do not care as they save the financial institutions. The citizens are an afterthought. Not one of them wants to give up their power base. They don't want to declare insolvency - they want the public to pay their debts. Weimar wasn't much different, except it wasn't caused by German greed, but by the vengeance of its enemies to bring about a war worse than the war to end all wars. This time it is propelled by greed and a quest for world government.

The result of all this is that some 20 major countries are on the edge of insolvency, not to mention scores of other countries. We see one funding crisis after another. Even major countries can't sell their bonds even with higher than normal yields. Interest rates are close to zero. We suppose they could go into minus territory, where they would pay you to borrow money. Don't laugh, it has happened more than once. It was also not uncommon to see negative lease rates, as countries engaged in the suppression of gold prices. Governments do anything they want. This same state of mind exists in increases in money and credit. Presently almost all governments are in trouble. If they haven't made a dog's breakfast out of their own economies they have bought bonds from those who have and stand to take stiff losses. Look at the euro zone's almost $1 trillion bailout of the PIIGS. Do you really think those bonds will ever be paid off - we don't. It is this concept of interconnectivity that as the players are finding out it is a disaster. How can solvent European countries even contemplate a $2 trillion bailout for nations that really do not care if the debt is ever paid off? That is how today's world turns.

We fall back on a very important underlying concept and that is if you do not understand what is really going on behind the scenes you can never get the right answers and conclusions. People talk about cycles and super cycles as if they occurred out of nowhere. They all happen by design. As an example, the economy has improved, but that is because of $800 billion in stimulus and Fed spending. The growth that evolved was tepid at best. Now that the economy is trailing off, the stimulus having expended itself, and the question is what comes next? The only way to stave off recession/depression is to have another stimulus plan. That, of course, doesn't affect the root causes - it just gains time.

In this debt parade we find it interesting that but for one source, we see no mention in the media of America's contribution, via the IMF, of some $60 billion. The frauds and criminality continue unabated. Nowhere do they tell you that among the biggest speculators were the banks that you are being forced to bailout.

Over this past year we have seen a stampede into corporate and Treasury bonds, at miniscule yields, due to the perception that bonds are safer. These investors are in for a big surprise as banks and other professionals start to factor in the risks involved, which throw off such poor returns. As the world economy runs out of stimulus and liquidity that has been chocked off by central banks, the realization will be that the prospects of countries and corporations have been severely diminished. GDP is falling and could in many countries, led by the US, should be negative for the last two quarters of the year and beyond. There is no safety in bonds, particularly municipals. Bonds are in a bubble, as many will soon discover. If income falls the ability to service bonds gets more difficult, both by government and corporations. While these myriad problems exist our Congress grovels before the political masters of Wall Street, banking, insurance, big Parma and transnational conglomerates. Pricing of risk is now impossible, which means risk rises exponentially. Eventually this reality will make credit harder to access as we move into the future.

What is important more than anything else are jobs and those who create them cannot easily borrow money. At the same time free trade, globalization, offshoring and outsourcing kill our jobs and fill the coffers of transnational conglomerates that keep their profits tax-free offshore. You cannot do that. While this transpires yourCongress stuffs their pockets with cash from elitists who own them.

The troubles we see in Europe are but a reflection of what is going on worldwide. This leads us to the conclusion that Americans and others are being systematically betrayed by their legislators. - A problem that can be remedied in November by removing almost all of them.

The European rescue attempt will not work nor will phony, temporary stimulus, or increased issuance of money and credit. Do not forget as well that a great deal of that European debt is being held by US institutions. Expending volatility is on the way, as the debt implosion continues. Is it any wonder, as we predicted, gold and the shares are hitting new highs.

Stock and bond markets have no way to go but down. If you are not out of both, with the exception of gold and silver shares, you had better be. The big money, the professionals, are in a state of panic and that money has to go somewhere. Yes, you guessed it, and that is very bullish for gold and silver related assets. As an added incentive the dollar is in the process of completing a head and shoulders, which means the rally is over and the dollar is headed down. Even though the dollar decoupled from gold over a year ago, as we predicted, and probably only affects gold by some 20%, it is still gold bullish and not neutral or negative. Adding further fuel to the fire we predicted four years ago not only real estate would collapse and that foreclosures would wipe out trillions in real estate values, but that millions would walk away from their underwater homes. Homes where mortgages were greater than the home value. The first wave began two years ago, but we now see affected those with good to excellent credit who are defaulting because one or even two breadwinners have lost their jobs. Now we have those underwater that won't sit with a wasting asset. Besides they realize this could now go on for years, perhaps two more years to the bottom of the market and many more before any semblance of normality is seen. They have now become about 13% of all defaults, up from 4% three years ago. Mortgage holders also see this as payback for the banks that caused the debacle and screwed the homeowner in the first place. Banks aided and abetted all kinds of fraud and no one has ever been charged, never mind sent to jail. The Fed and government also bailed out the banks and not the public and that has further incensed homeowners and others. It pays to be a crook. The banks are losing about $100 billion a year and that is funneled into the economy via other channels - another stimulus plan, that is because many no longer pay a mortgage or rent. In the next two years homes in negative equinity will rise from 25% to 50% to 60%. Lots of lenders are going under and that is the way it should be. It, of course, will be devastating for the economy.
