I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy.

Held In A Psychiatric Ward & Called “Delusional” For Saying 9/11 Was An Inside Job

I was wrongly diagnosed as delusional by the psychiatric staff of Ward 7 at Northland Base Hospital in Whangarei and held against my will for 11 days in mid-2006, because I maintained the attacks of 9/11 were orchestrated by criminal elements inside the US Administration.

A definition of delusional: relating to, based on, or affected by delusions. A delusion: a false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness.

In light of the definition, one of the most astounding aspects to the ordeal was that when I met with the chief psychiatrist, Dr Carlos Zubaran for two formal mental health assessments, I held Issue 3 of Uncensored, which is shown in the picture above, and asked him to look at information related to the 9/11 attacks. This magazine contained an article I’d written entitled: Why Does TVNZ Lie To Us About 9/11?, which cited evidence that proved the official fable was a lie – yet reminiscent of the fabled vampires afraid of the light of day, he refused to even cast his eyes over it, during both of the so-called “assessments.”

Another astounding aspect to what occurred was that Section 4 of the New Zealand Mental Health Act makes it clear that no one can be judged to be mentally ill solely on the basis of their political beliefs. The District Inspector for Mental Health – Northland, barrister Julie Young; Bridget Westenra, the lawyer she appointed to assist me and the staff of Ward 7, including the chief psychiatrist, did not appear to know this. As can be seen, it is written in layman’s language on page 33 of Chapter 2 of Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992, which is on the Ministry of Health’s own website: ‘You cannot be considered to have a mental disorder just because of your: political, religious or cultural beliefs…’.

As this Judgement shows, because of his reluctance to scrutinize the evidence related to 9/11 and apparent lack of awareness of Section 4 of the Act, nine days into my incarceration, Dr Zubaran still held the belief I suffered from a “delusional disorder” because of my political beliefs.

The evidence that shows the official story of 9/11 was indeed a lie is now overwhelming. We now have what has been referred to as the “loaded gun” – this is the unignited nanothermite, a highly-advanced explosive substance, which was far too sophisticated a composite to have originated from a cave in Afghanistan. Think military. Think US government.

The following article, which relates to what occurred in Ward 7, was published in Issue 8 of Uncensored. Thankfully, since writing about what happened and making numerous phone calls, plus sending many letters, as well as supplying numerous DVDs to the staff of Ward 7 to show them the truth about 9/11 – and then finally threatening to protest outside the hospital, the Clinical Director of Mental Health & Addiction Services in Northland sent an apology in August 2008, which can be viewed here.

Dr Zubaran did not apologise.

Bill would give president emergency control of Internet

Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet.

They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.

The new version would allow the president to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" relating to "non-governmental" computer networks and do what's necessary to respond to the threat. Other sections of the proposal include a federal certification program for "cybersecurity professionals," and a requirement that certain computer systems and networks in the private sector be managed by people who have been awarded that license.

"I think the redraft, while improved, remains troubling due to its vagueness," said Larry Clinton, president of the Internet Security Alliance, which counts representatives of Verizon, Verisign, Nortel, and Carnegie Mellon University on its board. "It is unclear what authority Sen. Rockefeller thinks is necessary over the private sector. Unless this is clarified, we cannot properly analyze, let alone support the bill."

Representatives of other large Internet and telecommunications companies expressed concerns about the bill in a teleconference with Rockefeller's aides this week, but were not immediately available for interviews on Thursday.

A spokesman for Rockefeller also declined to comment on the record Thursday, saying that many people were unavailable because of the summer recess. A Senate source familiar with the bill compared the president's power to take control of portions of the Internet to what President Bush did when grounding all aircraft on Sept. 11, 2001. The source said that one primary concern was the electrical grid, and what would happen if it were attacked from a broadband connection.

When Rockefeller, the chairman of the Senate Commerce committee, and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) introduced the original bill in April, they claimed it was vital to protect national cybersecurity. "We must protect our critical infrastructure at all costs--from our water to our electricity, to banking, traffic lights and electronic health records," Rockefeller said.

The Rockefeller proposal plays out against a broader concern in Washington, D.C., about the government's role in cybersecurity. In May, President Obama acknowledged that the government is "not as prepared" as it should be to respond to disruptions and announced that a new cybersecurity coordinator position would be created inside the White House staff. Three months later, that post remains empty, one top cybersecurity aide has quit, and some wags have begun to wonder why a government that receives failing marks on cybersecurity should be trusted to instruct the private sector what to do.

Tenants fuming as flats turned into ‘Big Brother house’ with 112 CCTV cameras installed inside

Furious tenants say security cameras have turned their flats into a huge Big Brother house.

It comes after a housing trust installed up to 112 CCTV cameras in their eight three-storey blocks and pointing towards residents’ front doors.

People living there say the move is an invasion of their privacy and fear they will be spied on 24 hours a day.

Tenant Phillip Mays, 44, was one of the first to be affected after a camera was installed outside his flat.
He said: ‘They’ll be able to sit watching who comes and goes into each of our flats 24 hours a day.

‘If we were in prison we could expect security like that, but not in our own home.
‘It’s like Big Brother on TV, watching us all day. It’s a breach of our civil rights and privacy.’

A homeless man caught fire after U.S. police shocked him with a Taser gun, it has been revealed.

Daniel Wood, 31, was allegedly sniffing gas from an aerosol can as he ran through traffic when he was chased by two officers in Lancaster, Ohio.

One officer caught Wood and got him on the ground, where Wood continued to resist, according to the police report.

Another officer shouted a warning, then zapped Wood with the Taser, the report said.

Wood immediately burst into flames that covered his torso.

The officers were forced to drop their weapons and beat out the flames.

Wood said: 'My complete right half of my upper body is burned.

'I have bandages from my wrist all the way up my arm and across my chest.'

He admitted he had been inhaling vapours from a chemical cleaner in an attempt to get 'high'.

The 40th Military Police Internment and Resettlement Battalion was activated in a ceremony April 15 on Main Parade and assumed authority over units of the 705th Military Police Internment and Resettlement Battalion not deploying later this year.

Maj. Brian Locke, commander of the 40th MP Battalion, said the unit received permission to activate early because of the 705th MP Battalion's deployment timeline.

Feds plan nationwide campaign to erase public fears about vaccine dangers

Federal authorities plan to initiate a nationwide campaign in the coming weeks to persuade Americans to get the swine flu vaccine and to erase any public skepticism about the flu's danger and the safety of immunizations.

Even as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has manufacturers working overtime to produce a vaccine for the swine flu by mid-October, government officials are concerned that demand for immunization will not be high. In particular, parents participating in focus groups this summer expressed concern that ramping up vaccine production would make it less safe than the seasonal flu vaccine.

Only about 1 in 3 Americans gets the seasonal flu shot, but some of the groups with the lowest rates of immunization have the highest risk of becoming infected with the swine flu. Less than 25 percent of children under age 2 get the seasonal flu vaccine, for example, and rates are even lower for school-aged children

"Many parents (in focus groups) expressed a lot of concerns about 2009 H1N1 vaccine. Those concerns were centered around the fact that it was new and it was being developed quickly," said Kris Sheedy, a communications director with the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, during a meeting with reporters Tuesday at the CDC. "There were comments such as 'this is new and I don't want my child to be a guinea pig.' "

She added that people in focus groups mostly viewed the swine flu as a "mild disease," which might make them reluctant to be vaccinated.

Geithner: Auditing the Fed Is a “Line That We Don’t Want to Cross”

In an interview released today by Digg and the Wall Street Journal, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was pressured about the growing popular movement to Audit the Fed spearheaded by Texas Congressman Ron Paul. A visibly uncomfortable Geithner attempts to dismiss the question by stating "I'm sure people understand that you want to keep politics out of monetary policy." When Geithner is again pressed on the issue, he makes the stunning assertion that conducting an audit of the Federal Reserve—something never before done in its 96 year history—is a "line that we don't want to cross," proclaiming that such a move would be "problematic for the country." Geithner's response that auditing the Fed would give politicians dangerous control over American monetary policy is mistaken at best and a deliberate lie at worst. Allowing the public to know what happened to their $24 trillion in bailout money does not give undue control of monetary policy to the people's elected representatives. Instead, such an audit would finally allow the public to see how their money has been spent in the midst of the largest spending binge in the history of the world's economy, hardly an unreasonable demand given the well-documented revolving door between the Treasury and Goldman Sachs, the main recipient of bailout funds. Ultimately, the Treasury Secretary is left spewing the absurdity that "I think even the sponsor of that bill recognizes how important it is to us to have the Fed independent of politics," which can only be said to be true insofar as Ron Paul—the sponsor of House Resolution (HR) 1207— wants to abolish the Federal Reserve system altogether. That the Wall Street Journal would even pressure the Treasury Secretary on serious issues like the Audit the Fed movement may be surprising, given that the Wall Street Journal is a mouthpiece of the financial oligarchy and that editor Paul Gigot, like Geithner himself, is a Bilderberg attendee. Needless to say, this was not a typical inside-the-beltway interview. Instead, questions were submitted and voted on by the Digg community, with the top 10 questions being posed to Mr. Geithner. As a result, the Secretary was bombarded by pointed questions about his documented tax evasion from 2001-2004, the wisdom of spending trillions of dollars in the light of long-term dollar devaluation and even, in the words of one particularly irate questioner, "Why are you running the Treasury Department?" Despite presumably having had time to prepare responses to each question well in advance, Geithner is still visibly discomfited by the entire exchange, picking at his shirt cuff and coughing nervously throughout the interview. In one particularly telling moment, Geithner even admits "We have been forced to do just extraordinary things and, frankly, offensive things to help save the economy." That these questions are only being asked now, almost a year into the bailout and several months after the new administration has taken office, further highlights how the controlled corporate media is doing everything in its power to keep to well-trodden and uncontroversial areas in their interviewing of key administration officials. This interview is testimony to the power of the citizen journalism movement that is attempting to hold those in power accountable for their actions. We can only hope that the Obama Administration lives up to their promise to be the "cyber" administration by allowing more such question-and-answer sessions in the future.

State prepares to challenge U.S. gun laws

Supporters of a first-of-a-kind law in Montana that declared weapons or ammunition made and kept in the state were exempt from federal rules are preparing for a court challenge to the federal government's insistence it will regulate those items.

The Montana Shooting Sports Association and the Second Amendment Foundation have formed a strategic alliance with plans to litigate over the Montana Firearms Freedom Act.

The bill was passed by the 2009 Montana Legislature and signed into law by Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer.

WND reported this spring when Montana drew a line in the sand and challenged the federal government to follow the U.S. Constitution with the law, which exempts from federal regulations any gun, gun accessory or ammunition made in the state and intended for use there.

The law provides guns and ammo made, sold and used in Montana would not require any federal forms; silencers made and sold in Montana would be fully legal and not registered; and there would be no firearm registration, serial numbers, criminal records check, waiting periods or paperwork required.

The idea is spreading quickly. Tennessee already has a similar law, and similar plans have been introduced in Alaska, Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Minnesota and Michigan. Lawmakers in nearly 20 other states have such plans in the works.

With President Obama placing anti-gun activists in influential positions, including an attorney general who supported a complete handgun ban in the District of Columbia before it was tossed by the U.S. Supreme Court, Montana's move is being called nothing less that revolutionary.

Montana's plan is called "An Act exempting from federal regulation under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution of the United States a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured and retained in Montana."

The law cites the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that guarantees to the states and their people all powers not granted to the federal government elsewhere in the Constitution and reserves to the state and people of Montana certain powers as they were understood at the time it was admitted to statehood in 1889.

"The guaranty of those powers is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889," the legislation states.

Why are health ministers in places like British Columbia, Australia and Greece telling the public that ’swine flu’ is just ordinary H1N1 type A seasonal flu, while at the same time they are preparing to vaccinate their entire populations against H5N1 avian flu using untested vaccines that contain live avian flu?

Why are pandemic plans being laid to combat a more serious second wave of ’swine flu’ when it is already clear that such an outbreak is not happening in the southern hemisphere, where the flu season is already under way? Both Australia and Argentina report a normal flu season with no mutation of the ’swine flu’ virus.

If the world is really so concerned about a ’swine flu pandemic’ this fall, why has the World Health Organization stopped counting cases?

These are just some of the many questions being asked in the growing controversy over the safety of ‘pandemic flu’ vaccinations that health officials everywhere are planning for the entire global population.

WHO launches global vaccination program

The World Health Organization has issued a binding ‘recommendation’ to all member countries requiring them to institute mandatory vaccination programs. Under an existing multilateral agreement this formally invokes each state’s pandemic plan and puts coordination under control of WHO. For some European states the pandemic plan includes setting aside government as normal and ruling the country by a special council under control of the EU and WHO. France has already announced that it will effect a move to military rule beginning in September.

The global pandemic vaccination program will begin somewhere around the end of September and last about two months. Many countries are in the process of acquiring from Baxter, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline and other pharmaceutical companies enough doses of vaccine to vaccinate their entire population twice. They remain quiet about mandatory vaccination, simply saying they will make vaccination ‘available’ to all on a priority basis. But Greece and Switzerland have already announced that their programs will be mandatory and enforced by the military. There are unconfirmed reports that Norway and Israel have done the same. The United States is preparing for military ‘assisted’ mandatory vaccination but has not explicitly declared its intentions to the public.

Vaccine safety concerns

There is huge controversy brewing over the lack of testing of these vaccines, whose development has been fast-tracked. Czechoslovakia is not moving ahead with vaccine purchases from Baxter because Baxter cannot guarantee their safety. In Austria police are investigating Baxter on bioterrorism charges. There is concern about reports that the vaccine (referred to in a Novartis patent as “novel pandemic flu”) is developed by infecting green monkeys, and that the U.S. military helped with its development. Physicians and vaccine experts have expressed grave concern about toxic substances that are already known to be in these vaccines, such as mercury, squalene, mycoplasm and live H5N1 avian flu.

Many are deeply troubled by the implications of mandatory (or effectively mandatory) vaccination, especially given the known dangers of the vaccines. There have been official statements that vaccination will be ‘available’ first to certain ‘most vulnerable’ groups — health care workers, followed by children under two or three and pregnant women, and then those with chronic health problems (including obesity). These segments of the population are also the most likely to suffer harm from vaccination. Some statements have been released generally prioritizing everyone under 18 and over 65.

Most countries are acquiring enough vaccine to vaccinate their populations twice. Vaccination is reported to consist of two separate injections about a month apart — one for regular seasonal flu and one for ’swine flu’ (both of which are actually the same H1N1 type A seasonal influenza). It appears that the first treatment will be traditional seasonal flu vaccine, while the second will be some kind of “novel” flu vaccine containing different adjuvants (which are the main safety concern).

Registration

Canada has said that it may need to “verify eligibility” for vaccination.

“Planners need to develop methods of identifying the numbers for each population subgroup and how best to confirm inclusion in a particular subgroup at the level of the immunization clinic.” (Canadian pandemic plan)

Greece has said that everyone will be required to register. So clearly there may be some kind of identification and/or registration in Canada and possibly the issuance of vaccination certificates, the non-possession of which some are concerned could be used to deny various services — such as health insurance, day care, or employment — and thus effectively force people to accept vaccination.

Economic and social disruption

There is speculation that at least for the duration of the global vaccination program there could be widespread chaos and disruption, which would undoubtedly have an economic impact. Sick or quarantined people may not be able to work, people may refuse to go to work for their own protection, and travel may be seriously restricted, especially internationally. Some news stories have been encouraging small businesses to make contingency plans. We already saw some examples of air travel interruptions in April and May. It is not clear whether travel restrictions, such as highway check points, might apply within countries. There have also been hints from Sweden that the Internet may be shut down during the vaccination program.

New Brunswick’s pandemic plan anticipates “disruption of essential services.” U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, has said that “depending on the severity of the outbreak, community mitigation could involve more systematic means of social distancing, including limits on large gatherings and, if necessary and appropriate, temporary school or workplace closures.”

The disruption of business as usual will likely force people to make do with less, to do more things for themselves, to obtain more goods and services locally, and to spend more time at home — all things that perhaps we should be doing anyway, for our health, for the environment, and for a better society.

UFOs and alien abductions were recently featured in a primetime ABC News special titled "Alien Abduction: An Exploration of the Human Mind." Part one of this ABC documentary, titled "Abduction by Aliens: Meet the Believers," is available at this link.

Though this video documentary does question the reality of both UFOs and alien abductions, the numerous cases of normal, respected individuals featured are quite persuasive. For the first time ever by any major media source, ABC News has presented alien abduction from UFOs as a phenomenon worthy of public discussion.

For decades the mass media largely either ignored or ridiculed any person or group who believed in UFOs. And those who claimed to have been abducted by aliens were treated as nothing less than nutcases. The few solid reports raising real questions on UFOs were often buried in obscure pages of the newspaper.

As just one glaring example among many, on Feb. 28, 1960, former CIA chief Roscoe Hillenkoetter publicly stated, "Behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense." This astonishing news from one of the most powerful men in government was reported in the New York Times, yet the article was buried on page L30 of the Sunday paper. As recently as May 9, 2001 at the prestigious National Press Club in Washington, D.C., 22 highly respected government and military witnesses testified on their personal involvement in a major UFO cover-up to a large hall filled with major media reporters. Yet the media reports of this landmark event, sponsored by the Disclosure Project, mostly laughed it off or failed to cover it at all. Yet in the last few years, the media has gradually been changing its tune. CNN's Larry King began a series of shows asking hard questions on the UFO subject in late 2007. King's guests, who had remarkable experiences with UFOs, included a former astronaut, a former state governor, and key military officers who stood nothing to gain from testifying.

On May 14th this year, the New York Times published its first-ever article supportive of the UFO movement, which you can read about at this link. Then just last month, Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, was quoted by ABC stating "the UFO phenomenon is real." And now ABC Primetime has aired this amazingly balanced video on alien abductions and UFOs. Thanks to the untiring efforts of numerous pioneers in the UFO movement, the major media appear to finally be engaging in serious discussion of the topic of UFOs and alien abduction.

There are many courageous individuals who have made powerful contributions which helped to bring this about. Dr. John Mack risked his career as a respected Harvard professor and a Pulitzer-prize winning writer when he published serious studies and several books on the alien abduction phenomenon. His documentary on the topic, Touched, is a classic.

Dr. Steven M. Greer gave up a lucrative career as the medical director of an emergency room at a large hospital to focus on bringing the UFO issue into public light. His successful Disclosure Project turned me and many thousands of others from skeptics to believers in 2001 with his National Press Club event. Many other dedicated individuals have sacrificed career and reputation to bring legitimacy to this important field.

The majority of these researchers believe the aliens overall are benign to friendly. Testimony by several government witnesses has described UFO craft disabling nuclear warheads in an apparent message of the danger of these weapons to the future of our planet. Following a prime directive not unlike that of Star Trek, the aliens may be waiting for us to stop our warring ways before the make their existence fully known.
