FBI arrests Virginia man suspected of plotting bombings at DC subway stops

A Virginia man was arrested and charged with terror-related offenses Wednesday after allegedly helping to plot bombings of Metrorail stations in Washington, D.C.

Farooque Ahmed, 34, of Ashburn, Va., allegedly attempted to assist those whom he believed to be members of al Qaeda in planning the bombings, according to the Justice Department.

The Justice Department said there was no real threat against Metrorail or the public.
